The 2023 BRZ has a starting price of $28,595 (not including the destination charge). That base price is for the entry-level Premium model with six-speed manual transmission. If you want the six-speed automatic transmission instead, it will cost an extra $1,500. Fortunately, there are only two different trim levels – Premium and Limited – so picking a BRZ is easy. If you want the top-trim Limited, that trim will start at $31,095, with the automatic version requiring an extra $1,700. 2023 Subaru BRZ specs: Naturally aspirated engine, fuel economy, and performanceThe 2023 Subaru BRZ will carry the same specs as the 2022 model. That means that it will be powered by the same naturally aspirated 2.4-liter Boxer engine that produces 228 hp and 184 lb-ft of torque. As mentioned before, that engine can be paired to either a six-speed manual or automatic transmission that transmits power to the rear wheels. There’s also a limited-slip differential to transfer the power to both wheels for better cornering capabilities. That performance combination does well when the rubber meets the road. According to Car and Driver’s testing, the stick shift-equipped BRZ that they last tested sprung from 0 to 60 mph in 5.4 seconds. It also completed the quarter-mile in just 13.9 seconds, which is good for a sports coupe that’s not force-fed with a turbo or supercharger. It also helps that the car weighs less than 3,000 pounds. As for fuel economy, the EPA estimates that the 2023 BRZ can achieve up to 21 mpg in the city and 30 mpg on the highway. However, opting for the manual transmission lowers those numbers to 20 and 27, respectively. Which Subaru BRZ trim level should you get?There’s not too much of a difference between the Premium and Limited trim levels. The base BRZ features a 7-inch fully digital gauge cluster, an 8-inch infotainment screen, Apple Carplay, Android Auto, and 17-inch alloy wheels. Stepping up to the Limited trim level adds a few desirable features like 18-inch wheels, a decklid spoiler, heated seats, summer tires, and blind-spot monitoring. In our opinion, if you don’t mind spending the extra money, then the BRZ Limited trim is well worth it. But again, you’ll have to wait until the 2023 model comes out, which should be coming soon to a dealer near you.
