When Aldi Australia released their wine tote – that allowed you to pour chilled wine direct from your handbag – we thought they’d pretty much hit the jackpot in terms of greatest inventions of all time.

But it seems we were wrong!

Aldi have always loved a Special Buys offer for vacuum cleaners and now the supermarket has announced plans to sell what fans are calling a ‘Cleaning Robot’ – a machine that vacuums and mops your floor while you sit back and have a cuppa.

The Ecovacs Deebot Ozmo 610 is a smart robotic appliance which vacuums and mops at the touch of a button, meaning it will clean your home without any human interference at all.

It has loads of high-tech functions, including a navigation system to work its way around your house, WiFi access for remote control – and you can even schedule it to clean while you’re out and about.

And the best part? When the battery gets low, it will take itself back to its docking station – all by itself – to recharge. Genius!

The Ecovacs Deebot Ozmo 610 also features ‘anti-collision sensors’ to stop it damaging your walls and furniture and can even be accessed via your phone, Google Home or Amazing Alexa. Sign me up!

The appliance is part of ALDI’s Special Buys for Saturday, March 16 – and retails for $299. And while that’s a steep price tag, it’s still a fraction of the cost of similar products from high-end stores which can retail for up to $1400.

On Saturday, March 16 the robot vacuum will be included as a Special Buy item at ALDI. You'll have to be quick - it will only remain on shelves until sold out.

Similar machines can cost upwards of $800, but for just $299 this machine will mop and vacuum your house without you having to lift a finger (well, other than to tell it to do its thing via its app or your Google Home or Amazon Alexa).

You can give the device specific instructions about where to clean and it'll see itself back to its home dock when its battery is low or the job is done.

Reviews for the same device on Appliances Online are positive, with one describing it as an "excellent vacuum" that is quiet and can navigate furniture gently.

Another said it is easy to use and allows them more time to do what they want, which is definitely not housework!
