How do I move songs from playlist to library on iPhone?

Create a New Playlist

You can create your own playlists a couple of different ways. In iTunes or the Music app, click File > New > Playlist to create a new entry under the Playlists section. Type the name you want to give to your new playlist, such as the name of an artist or genre.

Add Songs to Playlist Without Adding Them to Library in Apple Music

As mentioned above, every song that you add to a Playlist ends up being on your Music Library. This creates the problem of the same songs (that you heard in Playlist) repeating when you play songs on shuffle in iTunes.

For example, if you create a Playlist containing Christmas songs in December, you may end up hearing the same Christmas songs when you play on shuffle in May.

You will find below the steps to Add songs to Playlist without adding them to Library in Apple Music on iPhone and Mac or PC.

Add Songs to Playlist Without Adding Them to Library On iPhone

1. Open the Settings app on your iPhone or iPad.

2. On the Settings Screen, scroll down and tap on Music.

3. On the next screen, turn off the option for Add Playlist Songs by moving the toggle to OFF position.

After this setting, you can Add Songs to any Playlist that you create on iPhone and those songs will not be added to your Playlist.

1. Open the Music App on your iPhone

2. Tap on the 3-Dots icon next to the Song that you want to add to Playlist.

3. Tap onAdd to a Playlist… option in the pop-up.

4.Next, select the Playlist to which you want to Add the Song to.

The selected song will be added to Playlist and it won’t be copied to your Music Library.

Add Songs to Playlist Without Adding Them to Library On Mac

Follow the steps below to prevent Songs being added to Music Library when you add them to playlist

1. Open iTunes on your Mac

2. From the top-menu bar on your Mac, click on iTunes and then click on Preferences in the drop-down.

3. On the next screen, click on the General tab and uncheck the box for Add songs to Library when adding to playlistsand click on OK to save the changes.

After this Setting, you will be able Add Songs to any Playlist without worrying about the same songs ending up in your Music Library.

Add Music From the Apple Music Catalog

If you want to add some tunes, albums, or entire playlists to your library, you can easily do so. The process is simple. You only need a few taps or clicks and it’ll be in your library.

Here are the steps for adding music from the catalog to your library on Mac or PC:

1. Open Apple Music.
2. Browse for music you enjoy listening to.
   
   
3. Whether it’s a track, album, or playlist, you can click the “+” sign to add it to your library.
   
   
4. The music should now appear in your library.
   
   

If you’re using a mobile device, the steps are slightly different.

1. Open Apple Music on your mobile device.
   
   
2. Look for some music you enjoy.
3. For songs, tap the “+” symbol to add it to your library.
   
   
4. For albums, playlists, and music videos, you tap the “+ Add” icon at the top.
   
   
5. You should now be able to listen to the music you added from the catalog in your library.
   
   

There are many great artists out there waiting for you to add their music to your library. Now that you know how to do that, your library can grow. There’s practically no limit to how large your library can be, so you can keep adding.

Adding music to your library isn’t the same as downloading, however. For that, the steps are different.
