The new library-based steel connection design automation features available in
#Revit2023 enable you to design steel structures more quickly and accurately using predefined and easily customized rules. Your model can use structural analysis results imported into Revit from Robot Structural Analysis Professional or third-party tools. Rules for each type of steel connection are used to place them based
on relevant criteria such as profile sizes, steel grades and capable internal forces. #automation #revit

#dataset in #AI for
#architecture is the one you plan, create or collect. Calling on debate and proof of opposite! Existing, open source datasets are: 🖊 not specialized to architecture or the built environment, with some growing exceptions; 🖊 optimized for dataset quality, without particular interest in data point quality - meaning the
quality of the object represented; 🖊 prioritize data point quantity over careful subject selection. When we question how AI can empower #architects, architecture and contribute to a better
#builtenvironment, it seems the only suitable option is to start by plan a dataset that is hyper relevant to the problem on the table. Some thoughts about dataset creation to come in a follow up post. Below, a proposal for capturing
#spaceexperience data from acclaimed architecture through #3dmodels using the
#isovist method. The images are part of the project LocAI that I developed in 2020 at Institute for Advanced Architecture

Free Revit components to make your everyday work easier
ProdLib is a simple Revit add-on that helps users to manage, configure and use Revit families in an easy way.
- Find thousands of free BIM objects: Revit window families, kitchen RFA files and much more
- Objects also for structural engineers: you can find items like anchor bolts, connectors, and corbels
- Support for at least the three latest versions: Revit, 2023, Revit 2022, and Revit 2021.
The ProdLib platform consists of product libraries that contain thousands of free BIM objects and RFA families, product information and other files. The user can download Revit family libraries, browse Revit components, and configure the available parameters of each product. Once the properties are set, the product can be added directly to the desired Revit project.

Installation
ProdLib is an extension for Revit that can be used within any Revit version later than 2016 (except for Revit LT). It’s also possible to use ProdLib in several Revit versions with the single installation. Downloading and using ProdLib is totally free of charge.
Revit LT users can download Revit objects from our web-based tool WebLib.
The installation and usage process in short:
Run the installation
Launch ProdLib Manager
Download Revit family libraries from different manufacturers
Open Revit. ProdLib can be found from the top ribbon
Open the desired library, choose the right object, and click Insert
For more detailed installation instructions, please read the User’s Manual.
Content management
One of the main features of ProdLib Revit extension is the background functionality ensuring that the latest product data and content is always available for architects and engineers. When connected to internet, the application checks regularly that the latest version of the content is in use. If there’s an update available, it’s clearly indicated to the user.
Once the BIM object libraries have been downloaded, they can be used even in the offline mode.
If the installation requires administrative rights, users can still manage existing libraries or download new ones without the administrative rights.
