Will Apple release a new iPad in 2023?

According to earlier reports, a bigger iPad Pro is expected in the early 2023 period, according to research by Ross Young. ProMotion and mini-LED technology on a 14.1-inch display would be the model's picks.

But in 2022, it was earlier expected that Apple will not launch any Pro iPad models this year. But as reported by 9to5Google and Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, Apple is still expected to refresh its Pro lineup this year.

It depends on how you define ‘soon’. If it is September or October, then yes. And I am looking forward to it. My 2020 iPad Pro with an A12Z is already showing its age (amazing how that works)– and it doesn’t support the latest multitasking features. In fact, I’ve loaded up iPadOS 16 on my iPad Pro and I really can’t find anything new. For the next iPad Pro, expect M2 chips, wireless charging, and upgrades to the camera system.

According to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, a new iPad Pro is slated to be released in late September or early October.

A new iPad Pro is expected to arrive in 2022, according to previous reports from Gurman and other experts. Despite the fact that miniLED technology is no longer planned for the tablet's 11-inch variant, Bloomberg's writer has highlighted a few new features.

Gurman goes on to say that Stage Manager isn't much of a functional improvement over what the iPad OS already has.

First thoughts on iPad Stage Manager: I don’t think it’s a real functional improvement over what exists today.

— Mark Gurman (@markgurman) June 11, 2022

Now that the most advanced capabilities will only be available on the M1 iPads, it seems logical for Apple to start working on a new iPad Pro this year.

Whether Apple will now simply deliver an 11-inch model, or whether the firm will first debut these two iPads, and later a 14-inch model, is still up in the air.

Apple has finally brought some changes to the iPadOS 16 with features like Stage Manager, continuity, and more. For these reasons, a bigger iPad is a no-brainer, but we'll have to wait and see what Apple has in store for us.

Apple is expected to release its first OLED iPad in 2023, Display Supply Chain Consultants (DSCC) said today in its newest quarterly OLED Shipment Report. Apple will enter the market with a 10.9-inch AMOLED ‌iPad‌, which prior sources have suggested could be an iPad Air.

Will Apple release a new iPad in 2023?

There have been multiple reports about Apple's work on an OLED ‌iPad‌, and the sheer number of rumors all but confirm that the technology is in development. Right now, OLED displays are limited to Apple's iPhone lineup, the Apple Watch, and the MacBook Pro Touch Bar, but Apple has been working to bring OLED to Macs and iPads.

Most of the rumors that we've heard about an OLED ‌iPad‌ suggest that it's coming in 2022, which is earlier than the DSCC report predicts. The Elec recently said that Apple will release a 10.8-inch ‌iPad‌ with an OLED display in 2022, and back in March, Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo said that Apple is expected to start using OLED next year. DigiTimes has also predicted a 2022 release for an OLED ‌iPad‌, as have sites like ETNews, which rely on supply chain data.

Kuo also said that Apple's first OLED ‌iPad‌ would be an ‌iPad Air‌ rather than an iPad Pro, with Apple continuing to use mini-LED technology for the ‌iPad Pro‌ lineup. Several reports about the OLED ‌iPad‌ haven't specified that the device will be an ‌iPad Air‌, but that's the general expectation as Kuo often has reliable insight into Apple's plans.

OLED technology is expensive, which is a factor that has thus far limited it to smaller devices like iPhones and Apple Watches. When adopted in the ‌iPad‌, it will bring improved brightness, higher contrast, deeper blacks, and wider viewing angles.

The DSCC report also suggests that Apple will "cancel the Touch Bar" in the future, which is in line with MacBook Pro rumors. The new MacBook Pro models expected in 2021 will do away with the OLED Touch Bar, with Apple instead returning to a standard function row of keys.
