Dodge put a computerized exhaust system on the car, even though it doesn't need one. It's actually a high-tech speaker chamber that emits a 126-decible roar that Dodge calls a “performance sound.”
What is frantic chambered exhaust? The feature, called the Fratzonic Chambered Exhaust, uses an amplifier near the rear of the car to produce a 126-decibel "exhaust" sound. Dodge says this sound is supposed to replicate a Hellcat's supercharged 6.2-liter V-8.
How does the Charger EV make sound? The exhaust system pushes the powertrain's sound through an amplifier and tuning chamber to emit a sound that can only be described as interesting. Dodge claims that the exhaust system makes up to 126 dB of noise to match the SRT Hellcat.
