Chrome Remote Desktop send Ctrl+Alt+Del not working

How to Run Ctrl-Alt-Delete on a Remote Desktop

Before you can control another desktop, you must establish a connection between both computers. There are a few ways to do this, but Microsoft has a program that enables remote access to another desktop. It’s called Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) and it’s built into Windows already.

With the help of RDP, you only require an internet connection for both desktops. This way, no matter where you are, you can have access to the target computer.

  1. On the target desktop, go to “System” from “Settings.”

  10. When the connection is established, you can type Ctrl-Alt-End and open the menu.

This method is a convenient way that only requires minimal setup beforehand. While you need to type a slightly different sequence, you achieve the same purpose. Now, let’s take a look at another method that doesn’t require any setup.

  1. On the target desktop, go to “System” from “Settings.”

  10. In case it doesn’t work, use your physical keyboard and hold Ctrl-Alt and click Delete on the on-screen keyboard.

If you don’t want to set up a Remote Desktop Connection, this method is a great alternative. It takes around the same time to perform as the first method and eliminates the need to set up. But of course, choose the method you prefer.

Chrome Remote Desktop can't send "Ctrl + Alt + Del" to a remote computer

Need to send "Ctrl+ Alt + Del" to a remote Windows 10 PC over Chrome Remote Desktop. However, the "Ctrl + Alt +Del" is being captured by Windows 11 even the remote desktop window is in full screen. How can I send the command to the remote Windows 10 rather than my local Windows 11? Thanks for any suggestions!

Method 1

  • In RDP, the “CTRL” + “ALT” + “End” combination will work.

If you have trouble finding the “End” key, it is normally located to the right of the “Enter” key. If you’re using a small keyboard on a laptop, you may have to hold down a function key to utilize it.

The key combination will also work in older Terminal Server sessions.
