In the glass, the Cordillera Sauvignon Blanc from Miguel Torres Chile offers a bright pale yellow color. On the palate, the texture of this balanced white wine is wonderfully crisp and melting. On the finish, this youthful from the wine-growing region of Coquimbo finally thrills with considerable length. There are again hints of lime and pink grapefruit. In the aftertaste, mineral notes of the limestone and clay dominated soils are added.

What is the difference between Sancerre and Sauvignon Blanc?

Sancerre (the region) is made with SAUVIGNON BLANC (the grape). Sancerre is a sub-region of France's Loire Valley that's known for growing Sauvignon Blanc. Sauvignon Blanc from Sancerre tends to taste very crisp and is a bit more subtle vs. New Zealand Sauvignon Blancs, which tend to have stronger flavors.

Why is New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc better?

The success of New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc can be attributed to the country's diverse terroir and ideal growing conditions. Cool maritime climates, coupled with long sunshine hours and varied soils, provide the perfect environment for the Sauvignon Blanc grape to thrive.

Which country has best Sauvignon Blanc?

Sauvignon Blanc is most famously produced in Marlborough, New Zealand and France, where (in the former) its telltale gooseberry and grapefruit notes shine most brightly. It also does well in Australia, particularly Margaret River in the far west of the country, in addition to the Adelaide Hills.
