Yes, exactly, it has taken me 5 years to buy it since I kept finding other products I wanted to buy instead ㅠ.ㅠ Anyway, I FINALLY got to try out Cosrx BHA Blackhead Power Liquid and I was really hoping it would revolutionize my skincare routine (as I expect all products to do) 🙂 Typical of Cosrx products, this one has a minimal ingredients list and simple packaging at an affordable price point. It contains 4% of Betaine Salicylate which is meant to reduce blackheads and pore size as well as decrease excess sebum. Keep reading to find out if it worked for me 🙂 The Product: Type: Chemical exfoliator Volume: 100 ml Recommended skin type: All skin types Key Ingredients: Betaine Salicylate A combination of salicylic acid (BHA) and betaine (gentle moisturizer), resulting in a mild exfoliator which helps to moisturize the skin. Roughly, 4% of betaine salicylate is equivalent to 2% salicylic acid. Niacinamide Also know as Vitamin B3, it helps to fade pigmentation and dark spots, improve skin barrier health and provide anti-ageing benefits. In this formulation, there is 2% niacinamide which is still shown to be effective! White Willow Bark Water Reduces inflammation and provides a source of antioxidants Full Ingredients List (cosdna):  The Packaging: The product comes in a transparent bottle which means you can clearly see how much product is left. It has a pump which allows you to carefully control how much you want to use. All in all, a nice, simple and hygienic packaging – well done to Cosrx! 👏 The Consistency: The BHA has a relatively thin texture – its runny but slightly thicker than water (1st pic was a race against time). When you spread it out, it has a gel-like feeling and forms a light layer on the skin. It takes several minutes to absorb in fully. Scent-wise, I’m pretty sure there is something super super faint which I have no chance of describing XD The Performance: On application, this exfoliator feels very cool and refreshing 🙂 It is super easy to spread on the skin with the watery yet gel-like texture (my favourite part) and takes several minutes to absorb in – I usually leave it for about 15 minutes to do its thing 🤣 There is no stinging or irritation whenever I apply this on my sensitive skin which I’m super pleased about! Especially since I tried the AHA 7 Whitehead Power Liquid a few years ago and it irritated my skin soo much ㅠ.ㅠ My skin has a clear preference in chemical exfoliators haha~ After using this product the first few times, there was a bit of purging where a lot of little spots appeared on my cheeks, nose and chin but they went down much quicker than usual too. When I got one of those really painful spots (the kind that hurts for days), it was much less inflamed the day after using this BHA, and did not hurt anymore! Amazing! I find exfoliating my skin two or three times a week works best with this product – anymore and my skin gets a bit irritated! I found my skin also looks smoother with less texture after using this for a couple of weeks. In terms of blackhead removal, I can’t say much about this since I seem to get more whiteheads than blackheads. Generally, the majority of my spots will fade after using this BHA however there are some deeper ones on my nose which refuse to move 😩 but who knows, they might go away with continued use 🤞 Pros: Light watery, gel-like texture Feels hydrating and refreshing on application Spots go away faster, yay! No fragrance and minimal ingredients Smoothes texture on the skin Cons: Experienced some purging at first Irritates skin if I use it more than 2/3 times a week Doesn’t seem to be as effective for removing the deeper spots on nose Overall Rating: 4/5I’m quite pleased with my experience of the Cosrx BHA Blackhead Power Liquid! It works well as a gentle exfoliator for my sensitive skin, if I use it around 2 or 3 times a week. My skin has become smoother and spots which usually sit around for days will be less painful and disappear quicker, woohoo 🥳 On top of that, this product doesn’t have any fragrance and the texture has a nice, gel-like feeling which is super easy to spread on the skin. Bear in mind you might experience some initial purging with this BHA (I believe this is quite a common reaction since AHAs/BHAs speed up skin turnover) but it didn’t last long for me. I would recommend this BHA for those with any skin type, since it is light and hydrating, and I did not find it drying at all.
