Traction, grip, or both?

Traction is what prevents your soles from slipping on loose surfaces. And grip is what prevents them from slipping on smooth surfaces. With their widely-spaced 5 mm lugs to fluff out mud more effectively, your trail running shoes literally bite into the ground: It's on muddy terrain that you'll see what they're truly capable of.And with a new rubber component that provides 42% grip, you can be sure your outsoles won't slip, even on wet rocks!

K-ring and kalensole: we offer you ultra-soft cushioning

The K-RING is exclusive heel cushioning technology in the form of a ring located in the heel: The hole in the middle disperses the shock wave.Kalensole is the EVA foam used in the midsole. It took 3 years of research to create this exclusive composition that improves cushioning by 34%, improves propulsion by 25%, and provides better temperature stability and durability!

Running shoes suited to all terrains... and all types of stride!

Exclusive Kalenji technology that makes our shoes suitable for every stride type with the denser foam located under the first metatarsus.

A shoe that gives you support when trail running.

When you're out running in wild nature for hours, you need shoes that give you maximum support! That's why we added a PU band sealed to the mesh around the back and sides of the shoe, to wrap your foot up snugly. As a result, When you pull your laces, your shoe tightens around your whole foot to provide extra support.

What are the secrets behind the xt7 design?

The XT7 features a whole array of details designed to provide support, versatility, and traction:- There's a pocket on the tongue you can store your laces in!- Weighing just 11.5 oz in size 9, your shoe is even lighter than before and suitable for body weight up to 200 lbs. - The sole has a heel-to-toe drop of 10 mm- For optimal comfort - even in trail - the lining covers the whole interior of the shoe, right to the toes!

Shoes tested for durability

In order to provide you with ever more versatile shoes, the 1st thing we did was listen to your feedback. That led us to develop a new kind of rubber for the heel, one that gives better grip. Then we handed our shoes over to trail running enthusiasts for 6 months, men and women who tested them out under real-life conditions every day, on all terrain.Result: On top of its exceptional level of grip and support, the XT7 will last you up to 1,000 km (620 miles)!

Product testing

This shoe has been tested on a broad range of terrain by numerous male and female runners. The Kiprun Trail XT7 was particularly appreciated for its excellent grip, comfort, and cushioning. The shoe has also undergone a series of mechanical tests in the lab.

The brand defines the Evadict XT7 as a versatile shoe, along with the previously tested Evadict MT Cushion. We have to agree on the term “versatile “. For these two products, it is the ability to tackle most terrain with a certain hardiness that can be appreciated by both products: powerful grip, reinforced construction, strong forefoot protection.

The comparison stops there because the Evadict MT Cushion has more cushioning and a 4mm drop compared to 10mm on the Evadict XT7. The weights are also different 300g for the first and 335g for the equivalent size Evadict XT7 (size 42.5).

Let’s focus on the Evadict XT7. We immediately notice the excellent instep support: the lacing is very fast and efficient, and we would say; powerful. And the laces don’t need special attention to slide them. They are simple, neat, and precise.

The second remarkable point is the sole. There’s grip on all wet terrain. No clogged-up lugs. Great sensations on rocks and slabs, the rubber adheres despite the relative lug-height, which on some models produce a certain loose grip. The Evadict XT7 is direct.

Cushioning is developed at the rear. It is less asserted compared to other products like the Evadict MT Cushion for example. There’s good spread, you keep foot’s presence on the ground. There is no lateral roll, the heel doesn’t drift towards the interior. You can feel the high 10mm drop. A rating that helps the spring but which some runners may not like who are used to 6mm drop.

The Evadict XT7 is not the most dynamic shoe around, but its roll is not violent, its rigidity is well designed for technical terrain. Same for the twist. There is very little cushioning at the forefoot. You can’t feel stones underfoot on the downhill.

It has quite a narrow overall fit, with a tight toe box. We like its precision, be careful if you have wide feet. The entire heel area is extensively fitted with foam padding, like the rest of the shoe which we would describe as comfortable.

Running you don’t have to worry about your feet not being protected at the forefoot: great protection. You can still feel the relative weight of the Evadict XT7 in the heel. Evadict announces a lifespan of 1000 kilometers. This will also depend on where you are running: the volcanic slopes of Réunion Island are much more abrasive than the Finland’s green and pleasant land.

AT any rate, the classic construction is very neat with good reinforcements. We just have a question about where the big toe bends: could this be a weak point? And then there’s the price: very good value.

At this price, why hesitate? The Evadict XT7 is a great shoe to have fun on the trails. Comfortable you can attack most terrain without suffering. This is not a competition-oriented shoe but it is very comfortable to wear to start trail running and go for long runs. The bonus? Its ultra-light price doesn’t put a hole in your wallet.
