1 Crore Free Laptops, Tablets Announced

UP State CM Yogi Adityanath has announced that 1 crore students of final year will be receiving free laptops, and tablets, as part of the Digital India mission.

State Elections in UP will happen in February, 2022, and as per some experts, this can be seen as a politically-motivated scheme.

But none the less, if the deserving final year students are able to get free laptops and tablets, then it will be a huge booster for their further studies and career growth.

When Will This Scheme Start?

Termed as UP Muft Laptop Yojana 2021, the process of distributing free laptops and tablets will start from December 25th, which is the birthday of former PM and veteran BJP leader Atal Bihari Vajpayee.

On that day, around 1 lakh laptops and tablets will be distributed at Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Stadium in Lucknow. 60,000 laptops, and 40,000 tablets will be distributed on December 25th.

In the first phase, orders for laptops and tablets worth Rs 2000 crore have already been placed and brands like Samsung, Acer and others are being roped in for this massive Govt scheme.

Who Are Eligible For Free Laptops, Tablets?

As per the official announcement made by the State Govt, only final year students from MA, BA, BSc, ITI, MBBS, MD, BTech, and MTech among other degrees will be considered for the free laptops and tablets scheme.

As per statements issues, around 38 lakh youths have already registered for this scheme via UP State Govt websites, and more registrations are happening as we speak.

Special Secretary, IT and Electronics Department, Kumar Vineet said, More than 38 lakh youths have registered themselves on the Digi Shakti Portal. Further registration is going on.

How To Register Online?

Students need to register at Digi Shakti Portal by UP Govt, or visit the official website of UP CM office for checking the rules and regulations for this Govt scheme.
