  • Nov 14, 2016 While Deschanel was wonderfully charming, Levitt ruined the film along with Arend. The musical numbers were not impressive and the story was really superficial. If you are looking for some cheesy romantic comedy with no chemistry then this will do, otherwise please avoid.

  • Jul 10, 2016 A fun movie for anyone in there 20's and possibly other ranges. Both leads do a great job of delivering dialogue in a well directed script. There are several fun moments in this movie that may come off as cheesy if you aren't fully invested. There is a lot of jumping around but it gives you the feel of hearing a friend telling a disjointed tale of his love life. The manic pixie dream girl character may be over done today, but this was one of the first movies that started things off. Definitely a cute watch, not technically a romance so don't let that turn you away.

  • Nov 04, 2015 500 Days is different love story, and worth watching. I would have rated it higher, but I found the non-linear presentation confusing. It felt like taking Shakespeare in class and having to read it a couple of times to figure it out.

Quality film. I know this is technically a chick flick, but I love the way this is filmed, and the comedy is great. There were some times here where I legitimately laughed out loud at some of the jokes. This is just a really likable film, and I'm glad that I saw it.

Is 500 Days of Summer worth watching?

500 Days of Summer is really refreshing now a days. It's funny, unique, and true to life. It's got something for everybody to like. Director Marc Webb shines in his feature film debut.

What is the main message of 500 Days of Summer?

Don't Let Your Happiness Be Dependent On Another Person Possibly one of the most important lessons from (500) Days of Summer is that happiness cannot be dependent on another person. Summer becomes the only source of happiness for Tom, and he loses himself because of that. It is unfair to put that pressure on anyone.

Is 500 Days of Summer ironic?

(500) Days of Summer was supposedly intended as a deconstruction of what it means to fall for someone, project onto them, and in Gordon-Levitt's own words, star in a self-conscious tale devoid of dramatic irony about it. Which, of course, makes the film's long-lasting cultural legacy most ironic of all.

Is 500 Days of Summer realistic?

Parents need to know that (500) Days of Summer is a smart romantic dramedy that's age-appropriate for teens and up, but its thoughtful exploration of relationships may speak more to those in college and older. It has a sweet-yet-realistic view of relationships that's refreshing given the usual formulaic…
