The R&B singer took over the last few months with the two most streamed songs of the season in the U.S. on Spotify, the company announced on Thursday. Advertisement The Weeknd's "I Can't Feel My Face" and "The Hills" were the top two songs, respectively. "Lean On" by Major Lazer, featuring MØ and DJ Snake, and Fetty Wap's radio hit "Trap Queen" came next with "Cheerleader" by OMI rounding out the top five. Globally, Major Lazer's "Lean On" was the most streamed song, finishing ahead of "Cheerleader" and Wiz Khalifa's "See You Again." "Our listeners have a keen ear for what's hot and emerging," Shanon Cook, Spotify's resident music trends expert, said. "It's exciting that tracks like Major Lazer's 'Lean On,' which we predicted would be a strong contender for song of the summer earlier this season, ended up being the summer soundtrack for many music lovers." To compile the data, Spotify tallied the most listened-to-songs between June 1 and Aug. 31. Other artists on the lists include Silento, Kygo, Avicii and Jason Derulo. Last summer's top song in the U.S. was "Fancy" by Iggy Azalea and Charli XCX, while "Summer" by Calvin Harris had the most streams internationally. Spotify's Global Top 10 Songs of the Summer: 1.
