Beauty The INKEY List Salicylic Acid Exfoliating Scalp TreatmentYou might remember that earlier in the year I started using a handful of skincare products from The INKEY List that quickly became part of my daily routine. And I could not get over how well they performed, especially when you consider how affordable everything is. After being as impressed as I was by those products and how well they worked on my dry/dehydrated skin, I decided to take the plunge and try one of their haircare products. Namely The INKEY List Salicylic Acid Exfoliating Scalp Treatment. Show And heres why I was so keen to put it to the test. For years now Ive suffered from a dry, itchy and flaky scalp. At one point it was so bad that I had to go to a dermatologist and still use a medicated shampoo as part of my haircare routine. Ive tried physical scrubs, which tend to work to an extent but end up irritating my scalp, leaving it red and sore. And Ive tried serums to calm the area. But Ive never really found a product that removes the dead flaky skin whilst reducing redness and balancing the production of oil and flakes. That was until now. SHOP THE POSTSo heres my review of The INKEY List Salicylic Acid Exfoliating Scalp Treatment.When I heard the words salicylic acid my first thought was, this sounds promising. If youve not used salicylic acid as part of your skincare routine before, it works by exfoliating to keep pores clear. The treatment itself is a thin, runny liquid consistency. So you need to bear this in mind as you apply it. As Id already used medicated shampoo on my scalp before, I knew that you really need to get the product directly onto the scalp, which can be tricky if youve never done it before. Heres how I make sure that the product gets applied to the scalp properly. How to useThe INKEY List Salicylic Acid Exfoliating Scalp Treatment;
You can also add a few drops into your shampoo to truly get the most from it. But I find the above method works well for me. My scalp feels so much less angry and irritated. Plus, Ive seen a big reduction in the amount of flakes that build up as the days go on between washes. Is the bottle pretty small for what you would think of as a haircare product? Yes. But its the exact same size as my medicated shampoo. So it wasnt as big a shock as it may be for others who order this expecting a big bottle. My only issue with this product is the way in which it is dispensed. I think originally it came with a pump applicator, which might have made it a bit easier to use. But ideally it should probably come with a pipette/dropper to allow you to get the product right where you need it. However, the formula itself means that it is well worth giving a try, particularly if you struggle with a flaky, irritated, itchy or oily scalp.
