The new class includes 41 Consortium members. There are also 13 scholars from Darden’s Future Year Scholars Program. This deferral program invites outstanding college seniors and master’s students, who have not yet entered the workforce, the opportunity to apply to the MBA program early; during the deferral period, Future Year Scholars can network with the Darden community, engage with a mentor, and receive career support.

Representation

International students make up 43 percent of the class and represent 48 countries. The international class set a record for applications. The school credits the STEM certified MBA program, which can provide a three-year OPT visa, for drawing international students. Behind the United States, the top countries of origin for students were India, Nigeria, China and Brazil. The class includes the most-ever students from Africa in a class, with 22 students. Women comprise 37 percent of the class, just a slight dip from the school record of 40 percent. The class also boasts 20 percent US minority student representation.

Professional and Academic Achievement

During their undergraduate years, the Darden MBA Class of 2024 averaged a GPA of 3.51. Those who chose to take the GRE averaged a combined score of 319. The candidates who took the GMAT landed the school’s highest average score to-date of 720.

The MBA Class of 2024 matriculated at an average age of 28 and with an average 5.8 years of professional experience. Sixty-six students are advanced degree-holders and 16% are first-generation college students, both record highs. Eight percent of the class are military veterans.
