Sri Lanka was given the right to host the Asia Cup, which was hosted there. Shah’s claim that India and Pakistan are currently unable to compete on each other’s land casts doubt on whether India would host the 2023 ODI World Cup and Pakistan the 2025 Champions Trophy.” Shah was surrounded by the BCCI’s newly elected officers, including vice president Rajiv Shukla, secretary Devaki Saskia, president Roger Binney, and treasurer Ashish Shelar.

Asia Cup Steaming

The hosting rights for the 2023 Asia Cup have been granted to Pakistan, but since the BCCI made it clear on Tuesday that the Indian squad will not travel over the border for the competition, it is now likely to take place at a neutral location. The Asia Cup, which was scheduled to be played in the 50-over format before the World Cup in India, will now need to take place someplace else, according to BCCI Secretary Jay Shah, who began a second term in office on Tuesday. In order to proceed with bilateral series against Pakistan or tours to the neighboring nation, the BCCI needs official consent. Shah also serves as the head of the Asian Cricket Council, so his remarks would essentially come to a stop in that capacity.
