Why doesn t Windows Hello work on my laptop?Check for updates and restart your Surface
There may be hardware driver updates that are available or pending a restart. Updating your Surface might fix issues you're having with Windows Hello. To check for updates, select Start > Settings > Windows Update > Check for updates. Install any updates that you need.
Can I get Windows Hello on my desktop?Most of the best laptops these days include either a fingerprint reader or an infrared camera for facial recognition. If you have a desktop PC or your laptop doesn't have one of these things, though, you can buy an external device that handles Windows Hello for you.
