As we said, this isn’t the most extreme cooler design, but it’s more than competent, delivering comfortable performance at stock. What’s surprising is that it managed to beat out the similarly designed Shadow Rock TF 2 from be quiet!

The cooler is capable of overclocking, but the thermals at full load did pick up quite a bit. If you’re just gaming, then you can see that performance was perfectly fine, but running rendering applications is going to get hot pretty quick. Obviously, we’re clocked to 5GHz, and you could always stay at stock or not overclock quite as high.

Acoustics

Thermal performance was pretty good for the size of this cooler, and the noise levels were great too. It’s a single fan design, and the fan didn’t have to work too hard either, clocking in at just 40 dBa max load.

Pushing up the heat saw the fan hit 44 dBa, which is still really quiet for a single fan cooler. You could push the fan harder, but I’d honestly suggest just not overclocking so high on this cooler.

Cooler Master MasterAir G100M CPU Cooler Introduction:

With all of the inexpensive liquid coolers available, does it still make sense to go with an air cooler for your CPU? Liquid All-in-One coolers are plentiful now - almost every cooler manufacturer has them in their product line up, and the "cool" factor of seeing that radiator in your rig definitely gets your attention. But air coolers are still relevant, especially when space is at a minimum and you need a low profile model for a compact build. Add some of the latest RGB effects and you have the MasterAir G100M from Cooler Master. Can it stand up to some CPU heat? Let's find out.

I like the color combo on the exterior of the packaging, and pretty much everything you need to know is listed on the box.

Cooler Master MasterAir G100M Closer Look:

Looking a bit like a flying saucer, the G100M sports a large diameter center heat pipe as part of its Heat column technology. Instead of a solid heat sink or a series of small heat pipes, you have one huge heat pipe sitting on top of the CPU! And all of those fins allow for a lot of surface area for heat transfer. Since we have the RGB functionality with this cooler, you see two cables coming from the unit - one for the fan control and the other is for the RGB control.

The installation is straightforward, and in a short time you will be ready to power it up. Installation is always easier when the motherboard is outside of the case, but of course that is not always convenient. The other bonus with a down flow cooler is that the air that exits the bottom of the cooler moves past the motherboard components for an additional cooling effect.

Here is just a hint of the RGB capabilities. The controller allows for several functions, so you can have some fun cycling through them and while I am only showing red and blue, the colors are almost limitless.

Is Cooler Master MasterAir MA624 Stealth good?

Overall, the Cooler Master MasterAir MA624 Stealth appears to be built very solidly, though some of the fins are slightly bent closer to one another. It is nothing out of the ordinary and these uneven gaps can be bent back to their correct position.
