Innisfree recently released a lip balm line consisting of 11 different shades and scents, inspired by teas. I find this concept absolutely adorable and I really love the packaging. It reminds me of the Glossier Balm Dot Com which I mentioned in my post for Top 5 Glossier Dupes

On the US Innisfree website, they showed a video whereby the Innisfree My Lip Balm can double as a blush for the cheeks. I’ve never really tried that as I wasn’t too keen on the feeling of a balm on my cheeks as it may feel a bit heavy, but you can definitely give it a go if you want to.

I got shade 09 called “Very Berry Tea”. Like the name, the color definitely has berry tones in it and I really love it. This is my go-to lip product for casual days as it adds a good pop of color to my lips so I don’t look half-dead as well as hydrate my lips from any cracks or dry patches. Texture: 5/5

The Innisfree My Lip Balm is a non-greasy and lightweight lip balm that applies very comfortably onto my lips. If I had to compare, I would say that compared to the drugstore Vaseline Lip Therapy Rosy Lips, the Innisfree My Lip Balm is significantly more comfortable and much less thick compared to the Vaseline lip therapy formula.

Scent: 4/5

The scents for these lip balms remind me of candy. At least for Very Berry Tea, it is a very pleasant candy scent and frankly, I can’t really picture it as a tea scent.

I’ve always been a fan of sweet scents such as the Lush Rockstar Soap, Lush Snow Fairy Sparkle Jar and Lush Candy Floss Showder. And from smelling the other lip balm samples on display in my local Innisfree, they all have roughly the same sort of sweet tea scent.

Hence, if you are looking for a very natural and authentic scent- I am afraid this is not the scent you’re looking for. I have had a few friends express that they’re not a big fan of the scent because it smells too much like candy or too “fake”, The scent is definitely noticeable but it isn’t overwhelming. Then again, this is coming from someone who really loves the scent. If you are a fan of sweet scents, I definitely recommend you to try out these lip balms.

Longevity: 2.5/5

Lip balms aren’t meant to be long-wearing and hence it’s inevitable that you’d have to reapply your lip balm again every once in a while. However, it does fade very nicely. It does not leave behind any uneven patches. it just fades into a subtle tint for your lips.

The application of the lip balm is also made easier with the dispenser, hence I would say that reapplying wouldn’t be a huge problem and you can probably do it on the go without a mirror.

Pigment: 4/5

The great thing about the Innisfree My Lip Balm line is that it has a variation in shade ranges and intensity of its pigments. I picked the more, if not most, pigmented lip balm in the mix. And it definitely does have a good color payoff. In the swatches I’ve provided above, for shade 09, that can be achieved with just 1 layer of the lip balm.

At the same time, the formula is also lightweight enough for you to add a 2nd layer for more color payoff.

Hydration: 4/5

I’ve worn this lip balm out for the whole day countless times and I can safely say that this is one of the rare lip products that can offer a great flush of color as well has excellent hydration. My lips do not feel chapped at the end of the day like they usually do with other lip formulas that were marketed as hydrating. If anything, my lips feel very moisturized with zero cracks.

I highly recommend this product to those looking for a low-effort makeup routine which helps maintain your lips throughout the day.
