The Intel Core i5-11400H is a high-end hexa-core SoC for gaming laptops and mobile workstations. It is based on the Tiger Lake H45 generation and was announced in mid 2021. It integrates six Willow Cove processor cores (12 threads thanks to HyperThreading). The base clock speed depends on the TDP setting and at 45 Watt is at 2.7 GHz. The single core boost speed can reach up to 4.5 GHz, all cores can reach up to 4.1 GHz. The CPU geatures 12 MB L3 cache and supports DDR4-3200 memory. Show
Furthermore, Tiger Lake SoCs add PCIe 4 support (20 lanes in the H45 series), AI hardware acceleration, and the partial integration of Thunderbolt 4/USB 4 and Wi-Fi 6E in the chip. Performance The average 11400H in our database matches AMD Ryzen 5 5600U and Intel Core i7-10750H in multi-thread performance, rendering the Core i5 a decent mid-range option. It isn't as fast as the mighty Ryzen 9 5900HS, yet it will let you run nearly all games released in 2021 at High or Ultra settings if mated to a good graphics card. The SoC features an improved Gen 12 graphics adapter called UHD Graphics with 16 EUs. The chip is produced on the second-gen 10 nm Intel SuperFin process that should be comparable to the 7 nm TSMC process (used for e.g. Ryzen 4000 series). The default TDP is rated at 45 W at 2.7 GHz base speed, at 35 Watt the base clock speed decreases to 2.2 GHz (cTDP down). All articles on Tiger Lake can be found on our Tiger Lake architecture hub. As expected given the trends we identified from the measurements above, the Core i5-11400 takes the lead in all single-threaded rendering work, including Cinbench R20 and POV-Ray.
Is i5 12600K good for rendering?Moving on to the rendering benchmarks, in Cinebench R23, Intel Core i5-12600K managed an all-cores score of 16843 points. It's an excellent result too (the i7-12700K is 31.3% faster). In Blender, we chose to render the bmw27 and classroom scenes. Here, the shorter the rendering time, the better.
Is i5 12400f good for rendering? It has been used for CG in countless motion pictures and television series. V-Ray supports all major 3D applications, which makes it a great fit for any rendering pipeline.
Is i5 good for video rendering?if you just do normal home video editing, for example, editing 1080p or 2K home videos, Intel Core i5 is a good choice. But if you want to do professional 4K video editing or higher, Intel Core i5 is not enough, you need i7 or i9. Is Intel Core i5 good for video editing? Yes the core-i5 is a very capable processor.
