I think they do a pretty good job of making an aesthetically pleasing piece of hardware but it’s not always functional. In the case of the Dell P2719H, it’s both functional and pleasing to look at. The Dell P2719H has those super slim, almost non-existent bezels on the side and the top. The bottom is still fairly thin but does house the Dell logo and is slightly thicker than the rest of the bezels. The entire body is made of mostly plastics but still feels durable and of high-quality. The back of the monitor has the Dell branding just as most of their monitors do. The I/O array is tucked up under the back lip behind the stand, as is the norm for most monitors. I don’t particularly like how they hide the I/O and I do wish it was more exposed and easier to get to. One other point to make about I/O, as readers have asked in the past, is that this monitor does not have the ability to be daisy-chained. Dell continues to place the adjustment controls at the bottom right of its monitors. I don’t mind this too much but it would be nice to have them more visible. Probably the highest point of the design of the Dell P2719H is its adjustability. It is height adjustable, has tilt, swivel, and pivot. Other Dell monitors I’ve reviewed lacked that and adjustability is a huge factor for many buyers. Big points for making sure this was included on the P2719H. Overall, the design is your average Dell monitor design. It’s not going to be a showstopper piece of hardware but it isn’t the forgotten step-child either. I think most people will be fine with the way the monitor looks. DisplayThe Dell P2719H is an FHD display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 running at 60Hz. This isn’t a monitor for creatives or gamers or those who need a high-resolution and refresh rate. Most gamers or creatives are going to want to look for at least a 2K resolution along with a higher refresh rate. That’s okay though. Dell didn’t design this monitor for either one of those categories. The Dell P2719H is aimed at consumers and offices who do a lot of web and productivity work. For that, this monitor is perfect. Dell says this panel delivers 72% (CIE 1931) color gamut which is good for general consumer use. Dell has also built-in their flicker-free technology which is supposed to help make content easier to view. https://youtu.be/6jKeuBNdhRU The Dell P2719H clocks in at 82 pixels per inch (ppi) and 300 candela per square metre (cd/m²). The ppi isn’t much to write home about but it’s about average for a monitor in this category. The cd/m², or luminous intensity, is pretty good though. I like my monitors to be able to get bright and this one delivered brightness very well. Colors are pleasing to look at here, not oversaturated but natural, and still vibrant enough to enjoy photos and video but in a clean format. Whites are clean and blacks are acceptable. Overall, this is a nice monitor for everyday use by consumers and businesses. Content creators should look upward to Dell’s higher resolution and faster refresh rate choices.
